Raadi Kindergarten moves to building phase

Tartu Municipal Government has signed a construction agreement with KRC Ehitus and the work is ready to start. The kindergarten is expected to receive its first students in the fall of 2025.

Raadi Kindergarten is the first part of the larger complex including a school, sports center and community park. During the first years, the building will also provide a temporary home for the Raadi elementary school. The school building is planned to be built in 2028-2029.

The building is carefully designed to provide an inspiring environment for learning and play for children. Its modern, rational use of wood in the structure, facades, and interior surfaces creates a strong connection between the surrounding landscape and the interior spaces. It makes it possible to bring nature outside into the curriculum of education.

Raadi Kindergarten has been designed by Lundén Architecture Company together with Estonian company, Arhitekt11. The design is based on their winning proposal for the international architecture competition in 2022. The landscape architecture solution was born from the collaboration of Lundén Architecture Company and Tartu-based landscape firm, TajuRuum.
