Lundén Architecture Company awarded third prize in Verkkosaari housing block competition

Lundén Architecture Company’s proposal, “Verkkosaaren puuverso” made in collaboration with Mangrove, Premico, Ethica, WSP, Amodus, Vesitaito and Mainostoimisto 4D, was awarded third prize in Verkkosaari’s low-carbon housing block competition organized by the City of Helsinki. “Verkkosaaren puuverso” is a distinctive, innovative and fully energy self-sufficient wooden housing block. The block offers a variety of outdoor spaces and greenery that increase biodiversity in the urban area. The proposal encourages a lifestyle that focuses on communality, circular economy and sharing. “Verkkosaaren puuverso” offers diverse housing typologies, from basic apartments to penthouses, two-storey townhouses and mezzanine apartments. The design solutions aim to improve the wellbeing of the residents and enhance interaction with nature.
